Ottawa volleyball falls to Paola in 4 sets

The Ottawa High School volleyball team Tuesday fell in four sets to Paola in Ottawa.

The Cyclones lost 25-16, 19-25, 25-21, 25-20 in the final home match of the season.

The Cyclones lost 25-16, 19-25, 25-21, 25-20 in the final home match of the season.

It was the final home match for seniors Maddy Lancaster, Dani DePriest and Brianna Yates.

“It was great to see the girls compete throughout the entire match,” Ottawa coach Laura Jeannin said. “They responded well to adversity  and worked hard on offense and defense.”

Ottawa was coming off a sixth-place finish Saturday in the OHS Invitational.

The Ottawa junior varsity lost 25-12, 25-20.

Ottawa plays Monday at St. James. The Thunder are ranked No. 1 in the nation.

Dani DePriest: 2 blocks.

Corie Fischer 14 kills 22 digs.

Brette Moore: 9 kills.

Katlyn Geist: 2 blocks, 3 block assists.

Kylie Foster: 17 digs.
