Braves fall to NCAA Division I foe

JOPLIN, Mo. — The Ottawa University men’s basketball team lost 101-75 in an exhibition game Saturday to NCAA Division I Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, Mo.

Ottawa played the Lions even early and were within 16-13 with 14 minutes left in the first half. Missouri Southern went on a 12-0 spurt to open a 28-13 lead halfway through the first half.

Missouri Southern led 53-37 at halftime.

Adam Hasty led Ottawa with 19 points and three steals. Kameron Lindsay had 11 points. Colby Regier chipped in 10.

Ottawa (4-5) opens Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference play 8 p.m. Thursday in Wichita against Friends.
