Coach Byers signs first recruit

Williamston (Mich.) High School senior Kyle Shashaguay signed to join the Ottawa University men’s track and field program. Shashaguay is new head track and field coach Tim Byers’ first signing.

Shashaguay lettered in football and track for Williamston High School. His events on the track are jumps and short sprints. Shashaguay was an all-conference performer and a regional qualifier. At Ottawa, he will compete in the triple jump and the short sprints.

“Kyle is a 21-foot long jumper that will add some much needed depth to the jumps crew,” Byers said.

Shashaguay plans to major in communications.
