Peoples earns All-American honors

COLUMBIA, Mo. — University of Missouri junior Kearsten Peoples earned two All-American honors recently in the 2014 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.

Peoples, a former Ottawa High School All-American thrower, finished third in shot put (56-9.25) and seventh in the weight throw (68-5.75).

Peoples, a former Ottawa High School All-American thrower, finished third in shot put (56-9.25) and seventh in the weight throw (68-5.75).

“We know Kearsten really wanted that championship, but we will go back to work and look forward to the outdoor championships,” Missouri coach Brett Halter said.

This is her sixth career All-American honor and highest finish yet at the NCAA Championships, topping the trio of sixth-place performances from the 2013 (shot put) and 2012 (shot put, discus) Outdoor Championships.
